October is here once again, a time of bountiful harvests, spooky Halloween, baseball playoffs and ‘Niner’ football.  It’s also time for our yearly pilgrimage to the Annual Communications at the California Grand Lodge. This year the event will take place between Friday, October 28th thru Sunday, the 30th. Much of the important resolution voting will happen on Saturday the 29th. This is truly an interesting forum where you have the ability to meet masons from throughout the state assembled in one place to advance the Craft. Come out and experience this wonderful event!

As I write this article, we will shortly be initiating a new man into our organization on September 27th. His name is Alaeddin Mistikoglu and he comes well recommended. He will be a nice addition to our Lodge. On October 11th, we are scheduled to initiate another worthy candidate, Mr. Keith Gabriel, into our Fraternity. He loves to cook and help prepare meals as well as share in the fellowship of our Brethren.

Several Lodge members and friends turned out in force for “Masons Night at the Ball Park” on September 28th. We sat in wonderful Club Level seats and enjoyed the game in style as it was a night filled with much purpose and Masonic good will!

In keeping with our Lodge culture and what we are known for, we will be hosting another Masonic Education evening on Tuesday, October 25th. Br. Michael Ramoneda will be coordinating the event and reaching out to some of the members for topics and presentations.  Come out and support the event and contribute to it if you can.

We are scheduling a Master’s Trip bus tour to Yosemite and the Hearst Castle over three days and two nights from Nov 11th-13th. All travel, tour guide, ho-tel, and admission fees will be covered with the EXCEPTION of food and drink. Those charges will have to be incurred by you. Space is limited so notify me ASAP if you are interested in participating.

Lastly, I want to let you know that we have been invited by Monarch Lodge 73 of Prince Hall Masons in Oakland to attend a degree conferral in their Lodge on Friday, November 18th. This is an event you won’t want to miss as Prince Hall degrees incorporate many beautiful and unusual aspects to their work. Let me now if you are interested in attending so we can figure out our vanpooling to and from the site.

Take care everyone,

Ed Sadler
