Hi everybody! The timing of me writing this article is just after our annual Lodge picnic at Orange Park in South City. It was a wonderful event highlighted by tasty food, and good fellowship. We also enjoyed the fact that we could bring our dogs to the park so they could have a day out of the house filled with fun too! I want to thank everyone who participated in setting up, cooking, and breaking down. Without your efforts, we could not have pulled this great event off! Be sure to let me know how you like the new venue. If I receive a positive consensus from you, we will reserve the space again for next year’s picnic.

As we look at the September calendar, we have a couple more social events planned where everyone can participate and enjoy themselves. On Tuesday, September 13th we will host our semi-annual BINGO Extravaganza Night. We will have our usual prizes and some different ones too! We will also provide plenty of food and drink as well.

On Wednesday, September 28th, it will be Mason Night at the Ball Park. The Lodge has purchased wonderful Club Seat tickets for this game and we still have some tickets left to offer to you at no charge. If I haven’t heard from you yet, let me know ASAP if you are interested in going to the game.

Looking forward a bit, we have a couple of events in the planning stages for November. The first is a 2 day Master’s Trip to the Central Coast to visit San Simeon and Yosemite on the weekend of Nov 5-6. From all accounts I’ve heard, this trip is worth the time on the Road! The second offering is a unique experience for the Brothers and entails traveling to the Monarch Prince Hall Lodge in Oakland to witness a Prince Hall degree on Fri-day November 18th. Through the years, I have visited this particular Lodge on several occasions and found the brethren to be very hospitable and kind. If you have nev-er witnessed a Prince Hall degree, than this is a must see experience. Trust me on that! As we get a little closer to the dates, I’ll provide more details so be sure to send me your RSVPs.

That about covers it all for now as I’m keeping it short and sweet this month.

As always, I look forward to seeing you all in Lodge.

Ed Sadler,
Master, GGS #30
